Employer Sponsored Visas
Temporary or permanent working visas with an approved Australian sponsoring employer such as 482 (Skills in Demand – SID), 186 (Permanent Sponsored), or 494 (Regional Work)
Skills in Demand Visa (SID) – Subclass 482
- The Subclass 482 Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) visa has now been replaced by the Skills in Demand (SID) visa.
- This temporary visa allows an Australian employer to sponsor a skilled overseas worker to fill positions that cannot be filled locally. It is designed to help businesses address labour shortages by bringing in qualified professionals when Australian workers are not available.
- The SID visa allows most holders to stay in Australia for up to 4 years, providing a pathway to permanent residency for eligible candidates.
Regional Sponsored Work Visa – Subclass 494
- The Subclass 494 visa has replaced the RSMS 187 Direct Entry visa. There are 9,000 visas allocated per year for regional Australia, which covers all areas excluding Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
